Mattocks Roses first began growing roses in 1875 and have been at the forefront of Rose growing in the UK for over 125 years.
For many of these years our customers have been able to visit our rose fields, to view our wonderful blooms and smell their fantastic fragrance. There is no better way to choose the ideal rose for your garden, than to see it in the flesh and breathe in its rich aroma.
In 1998 Notcutts decided to construct a new rose garden to allow customers to view the roses, without having to trudge through a muddy field. Three years in the making, the rose garden is designed to show the best attributes of our roses.

The Rose Garden will allow you to scrutinise the varieties for their suitability in your own garden, as each rose has its own characteristics and they are extremely varied in their nature. You can note their height, width, abundance of flower, true colour of the flower and their impact on the eye, but most of all smell the roses, as it is a very personal thing and only you should decide on what is right.
We have set the Garden out in circular rings and used a straightforward layout to allow you easy access to all the varieties. We have devised a plan of the garden so you can quickly find the variety you are interested in and we hope you may find other varieties along the way that will catch your eye.
