NaturePots

The NaturePot helps to reduce waste and provides a new and environmentally friendly way of planting roses.  The pots are a sustainable product made of organic rice husks from a renewable resource in Europe. They are 100% biodegradable either in the ground or in a compost bin.

Recyclable wrap: NaturePot roses come with a printed wrap that is made from fully recyclable polypropylene and includes a press out label to identify your rose when planted.  The wrap can be recycled where facilities exist - please check with your local recycling centre.

Planting instructions: NaturePots make thorny plants such as roses easier to plant and because the pot is not removed there is no damage to the root system thereby giving the rose a good start.  First of all prepare your site well.  Your rose should give many years pleasure and deserves to get the best start.  Dig the area well, applying a liberal dressing of well rotted garden compost, or better still farmyard manure (or equivalent).
1. Don't remove the pot before planting.  Before planting water the rose thoroughly.

2. Gently crush or break open the pot slightly to aid the rooting process.

3. Plant the NaturePot deep enough to ensure it is completely covered with soil.

4. Press the soil firmly around the pot and water thoroughly.  Water your rose in well and keep moist until established.

NaturePots sometimes have a slight mould under the printed wrap but this will have no negative effect on your rose and will in fact aid the degradation of the pot.
NaturePots should take approximately 4 months to decompose in the ground to a stage when the pot is mixed into the soil.  The decomposition rate will be faster in a well aerated soil as there are more microbes available to break down the pot than in a more compact soil.  The NaturePot will decompose into a natural soil improver.
